Readers of the Journal of Protective Coatings & Linings can now cast their vote for their favorite articles in the sixth consecutive year of the JPCL Readers’ Choice Awards.
“By now, we’ve all likely done our own personal account of the past year, and have already set out to accomplish the goals we’ve made for ourselves in 2023,” said Charlie Lange, JPCL Editor-in-Chief. “We here at JPCL are no different; in these first weeks of the new year, we’ve internally reviewed some of what we’ve accomplished in 2022 in order to assess where we’re headed in the coming months.
“This includes recognizing the outstanding work our authors have put in on articles, as well as those involved in outstanding protective coatings projects over the past year.”
JPCL readers are encouraged to vote for their favorite articles published between January 2022 and December 2022. The articles from the year are classified into five categories:
Voting will continue through this month, with winners announced in the March issue of JPCL. Cast your ballot here.
Recent JPCL Highlights
Following the announcement, the editors pulled together some of the recent, most-read stories on paintsquare.com for the Coverage section. Some of these topics include the top 10 safety violations in 2022 from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the second-quarter earnings report for RPM and the opening of the new Fern Hollow Bridge in Pittsburgh.
In this issue’s features, authors J. Peter Ault, Kimmer Cline and Eric Shoyer from KTA-Tator, Inc. discuss how as protective coating systems for bridges have evolved from the lead-based coatings of the past to the more modern systems used today, new strategies for maintaining these structures have also developed. “Maintaining Modern Bridge Coating Systems” summarizes some recent studies into the efficacy of different bridge maintenance options to enhance the lifespan of structures.
Continuing on in the Coatings 101 series, the latest installment covers environmental controls, focusing on key equipment and practices for controlling the environment, as well as some of the most recent standards, regulations and technical advances.
Finally, the 2022 Prestige Awards feature article recaps this year’s award-winning projects and offers a quick glimpse of what’s on tap for next year’s proceedings. The annual JPCL Prestige Awards program recognizes influential individuals, impactful products on the market and noteworthy projects completed during the past year in the protective and marine coatings industry.
Readers can also find the recurring Bid Bits and Paint by Numbers articles in the issue.
